Subject: Dog in need of forever home - Toronto Ontario

Just passing this along in the event there is anyone in the great white north looking for a good dog.
The contact info is in the thread.
Jerry

Here is the info we were given.

She is a 2 year old 133lb intact female brindle Boerboel with a docked tail.
I dont known the original kennel she came from. I know that at some point
she was purchased as a puppy and she had a litter of puppies while in
possession of that current owner around the age of one. I am not sure of
the details, but he ended up being incarcerated in jail, the dog was rehomed
to someone for a few months, then she moved to the U.S and gave the dog to
her cousin, this person had the dog along with many other dogs for about
a year. She gave all the rest of the dogs away but one and the boerboel.
She is very young, and gave birth to her first baby, the boerboel became
protective and attacked the other dog. The owner whom said this had never
happened before, got worried that the dog would become aggressive to the
child, and she decided she was going to drop the dog off in front of a shelter
in the middle of the night. I got a hold of her in time... and told her I would
take the dog, and I would find a suitable home for her.

I have had her for about a month, this is what I can tell you about her;
-very loyal, and attached to ppl she knows
-very protective of anyone even ppl she doesn't know (she hates screaming, play fighting, and overly hyper playing between other dogs)
-she is now learning basic commands such as sit and stay, but she is very good off-leash
-she loves people and children, strangers or not, she is a huge attention seeker and wants to be loved and cuddled
-she is very food motivated
-she is very prey driven and would do best without cats at the moment ... but I am working on that with her.. and she is living with a cat now
-she is very dominant and bossy with other dogs, would do best without other dogs, although she gets along great with them outside,
she doesn't like to share toys, food, water, beds etc. THIS WILL RESULT IN FIGHTS
- I think that she needs a home without young children, or young couples whom may yell and fight
-She walks very well with a gentle leader, doesn't pull or misbehave
