Subject: Tula's Temperament and Health
In reply to: Sharon B 's message, "Female Boerboel in Shelter in Michigan" on 13:58:21 01/09/12 Mon

Now that Tula has been pulled from the high-kill shelter, I also wanted to give everyone an update on her temperament and her health. She was given a vet check yesterday, and her bloodwork shows that she is heartworm positive. That's only one health issue she is facing right now. Here is the report from the foster/rescue:

"Tula has a really ugly histiocytoma on her back foot that is so large it scrapes the ground when she walks and it's all infected. That may have to be removed. She also has two canine teeth that may have to be extracted. One for sure...broken with pulp exposed. She has hard surface sores and scars all over....poor thing has had it rough :(( And she was still so well behaved....the doc aspirated the cytoma, drew blood, swabbed ears, etc. and she sat calmly :) Even gave kisses afterward. She's a very sweet girl!! Thanks for pulling together with me to save her!!"

As you can see, Tula seems like a sweet girl that just got a bad shake in life. Hopefully we can find her a permanent, lifetime home where she can get the love and attention that she deserves.
