I wanted to update everyone on Tula. I will be providing these updates frequently, especially as we are continuing to look for a permanent home for her. She is currently in foster care with Lisa in Michigan, USA, and she is looking for a lifetime home.

As a reminder, we have a Chip In account set up to help with Tula's medical expenses while she is in foster care. The link is in one of the prior messages. All money from the Chip In account is going directly to the foster for Tula's medical care. Donations can also be made directly to Voiceless-MI on their website. If you donate through the Voiceless-MI website, make sure that you specify that your donation is for Tula.

Thanks for everyone's donations so far! Most of our donations have been coming in from the US, but we also received a donation from Canada yesterday and one from the UK today.

This update is from Monday, January 16th, 2012:

We handed Tula off to Lisa today! One of our volunteers met her part-way. She is doing absolutely great. Everyone at the hospital fell in love with her. My limited take on her so far is, she is probably not dog aggressive but appears to be dominant. But wonderfully friendly with people. Needs to learn everything.....she knows nothing :-( but fortunately, she is pretty laid back so her lack of training should be very workable.

Her foot is already looking better but the cytoma will probably have to come off. She will have her first immiticide injection this week. I always hate to make them go through it......the injection is so painful....
Anyway, I love this dog!!!!!!

She has been a very good girl....

Tomorrow we go to the vet for bloodwork and then later in the week her first injection.
She has blankies and a comfy bed in her crate and she is just chill'n she Meet Bridgee my Dogo girl little growling going on but no lunging at the cage. She is very correctable. She doesn't like my mini boxer (crack baby) Madison, but Madison was rude and rushed the cage...

Will let you know how the treatment goes. Hubby is coming home Weds night, I'm dreading let him know about our house guest... But I couldn't see her being killed either.... So it's worth getting yelled at for her to have a safe life and a loving future home. I can only take care of her till her heartworm treatment is done. So hopefully a loving home or foster home comes along in the next following month when she is done with her pokes.
