Subject: Update on Tula, February 13, 2012
In reply to: Sharon B 's message, "Female Boerboel in Shelter in Michigan" on 13:58:21 01/09/12 Mon

This update is from Voiceless-MI on February 13th regarding Tula's progress. We are still looking for her forever home. Anyone who is interested should either respond to this post or contact Beth at Voiceless-MI. If you respond to this post, I will see it and put you in touch with Beth.

Just an update on Tula......she had her first immiticide injection a couple weeks ago (first of three injections). She is exhibiting some respiratory difficulty, coughing, but otherwise, she is doing well. Her heartworm infestation was somewhat advanced so the respiratory/coughing is somewhat expected. She is in a wonderful foster home who is being very diligent about keeping her calm and rested so she does not clot. We have not been able to introduce her to other dogs yet as we don't want to over-stimulate her during her recovery. But she is proving to be very loving, laid back, and everyone at the veterinary hospital loves her!!! She was excellent allowing the doctors to poke, prod, inject, draw blood, etc. This is one lovely dog! We will continue to post updates as she received add'l injections and recovery. Thank you to all who donated to help us help her!!!!
