I appreciate long posts, as long as I respect the writer! LOL! If I don't respect the writer, then I won't read more than a few words. If I respect the writer and want to learn from them, then I hope that they write a long post and I read EVERY word. LOL! With this in mind, I read every word that Norman writes, and I read every word that Jenny writes! Now it may sound like I am sucking up, but in reality I am just telling the truth. Don't get a big head about it! LOL!

For my post, I could have made it longer! I could have gone into my experience with my American Bulldog where I was walking her down a country road and a van came speeding out of nowhere with paint cans in it that scared the living daylights out of my dog. Even though I thought my country road was a pretty safe place -- a car only goes down this road about once per hour if you are lucky, I could not control everything. It was a perfect storm of how things can go dreadfully wrong. The dog bolted and never looked back. Luckily she was able to find her way home. She never recuperated from this experience. As soon as I would bring out her collar, she would hide under the bed.

You can control the environment to a certain extent, but not always. The genetic material of the dog at the other end of the leash is what is most important.
