That statement alone would make me suspect of any "advice" she may have shared.

IMHO, a healthy diet is a healthy diet. Young, adolescent, or old will benefit from a healthy diet. Raw, whole foods, all life stages, etc... Do some research, make a choice that you are comfortable with, and do the best you can.
