Subject: Paw care?

Here in the UK we’re in the grip of what is for us unusually cold weather. It was -13 degrees Celsius at 10.00am this morning and there’s layer after layer of snow and ice. I farm and am having to take all the feed out to my 400+ sheep, horses etc. by quad bike as nothing else is moving. The dogs’ job is to keep the stock back from the gates, bike etc. and also check the fields as usual.

I’m trading off between my useful dogs as I’m having to make multiple trips (there’s only so much one can fit on a quad bike!) but I’m still concerned about their paws. I know this type of weather is commonplace in parts of the US and Europe, are there any tips or advice on keeping them comfortable?

The dogs are perfectly happy but you know Boerboels, they'll be running on stumps before they stop to complain.

Regards,
Lucinda
