I understand what you are saying. I have seen some houndy piebalds that looked like foxhound crosses or pointer crosses. But at the same time I know of some massive pies and Irish-marked. Tigerberg Puma comes to mind. Owned by Tina Stern in SA, he is listed as 89kg (196 pounds) and 82cm (32.2 inches tall). He is not quite 5 years old. You can see his picture on the Tigerberg website:

Go to "Our Dogs", and then scroll to the 4th dog named Puma. He is a striking Irish-marked brindle.

I have seen other Irish-marked and Pies that are also pretty heavily structured. If I can find a link to their pictures, I will post it.
