Subject: Boerboels of the past

I really want to learn about some of the founding dogs and bitches that have left their mark on this breed. If anyone knows their stories, who bred them, what kind of dogs were they, and what genetic "signature" did they give to their line.

I know about the pedigree databases available, but they don't tell me anything about WHO the dogs were. I want to know what the breeder liked and disliked about them. What was it that made them so special and well known in the BB world at their time? How did they work them? Did the dogs produce good dogs themselves?

I think this is an important topic for us all to learn about. Where did our dogs come from and are we setting the same goals as our founding breeders?

~Nikki~
