Only my opinion, but I'd say it's because the wash out rate with Boerboels is already so high with the more established maladies that vary few breeders get around to it...... most buyers don't really understand hips yet... they are not going to drive it.

Finding a Boerboel that's half what it is supposed to be temperamentally is hard enough. Finding one that has good hips, good eyes, doesn't prolapse ( bitchs ), or isn't too retarded to breed ( males ) doesn't have demo, etc. I could go on.... Is thinning the field farther still.

You want to throw in elbows...have at it... Good luck.

But if, as you say, 43 % percent have elbow issues ( not taking that as Gospel mind you.... you'd have that prove that further ) then it would be a mute point..... their done as a breed..... it's too wide spread, even with with meaningful coordinated selection pressure it would require quite some time to improve, much less with the anarchy that is reality.

I would have rather said something more cheerful... or at least funny, but it ain't. Although there may be money to be made in boerboel skate boards that strap to your cripple boerboels chest ??

Let's just put in on the list of good reasons to cross em with something not so afflicted. :)

I don't like to see a fair and reasonable question ignored entirely.
