I'm not sure I agree Ashley. I don't think price tells you an awful lot about a breeder and can be totally misleading. There are people who ask extortionate prices for puppies totally unjustifiably, but a responsible breeder doing all the right things can justify a fair price for their puppies and that's the difference.
I think one of the most important questions to ask is - "What do you hope to achieve by this breeding?" The answer will tell you a lot about the breeder and what his/her priorities are. Personally, I won't entertain questions on price until I've determined if I want this person to have a puppy and if price is their priority, it's usually a short conversation. I value my dogs and my breeding program and I know how much goes into it, so someone looking for a "cheap" pup can go elsewhere!

You don't always get what you pay for in this life, but it's probably fair to say that buying cheap doesn't mean buying the best either and can prove to be a false economy in the long term.
