The way I see it, if person is looking for the right dog and has inquired upon several breeders, spoken to people that have boel's and have done their research, they already have a pretty good idea how much ones going to cost. That being said, I'd rather have someone come at me with questions reguarding health, how do they interact with kids, what have I done with my dogs, what would best "suit me"(as far as the individual dog goes to that family).
If i get an email saying "how much for your puppies". The first thing that comes to my mind is someone is looking for the cheapest dog out there.

I don't particularly have a "set" price. I've let some go practically given away and lost out BIG time financially beause the family was great, just couldn't afford what most were charging.

I like to get a good idea as to what a family wants to achieve with the dog. If its something I'm intrested in, I like working with people and gaining in the end by a possible puppy back out of a litter it may produce. Its not always about how much they sell for.

Sure its important to know, and should come up in conversation at some point, but not a oneline email.
