".....that's the smartest thing you've said yet."

That's how you provide advice?? I never claimed to be an expert. I just wanted to get some opinions. I guess I'm just used to speaking to people like adults. Understanding that the person asking the question is asking it for a reason and trying to give a nice helpful answer.

I understand that best experience is hands on with a trainer. I'll see him Thursday and see what he thinks.

This surely isn't a typical ask a question and get an answer forum. I tried to explain that he's an extremely well behaved boy in my original post. When I said typical hard headedness - I just meant that will really need to stay on top of him b/c occasionally he can a little stubborn. But we have been and still are in training and doing our best.

Wouldn't you want to help someone that takes the time and effort to do a good job and raise a well behaved companion by keeping up with training and asking questions. Saying things like ".....that's the smartest thing you've said yet" to a "forum newb" only turns people off. Unfortunately, that's why this forum will never get any better. You can keep your nose in the air and I'll keep mine to the ground trying to learn as much as I can to keep raising a wonderful dog.
