On the buyer beware point. I noticed through websites today over several breeders who are listing dogs to be OFA good or fair for dogs that not truly OFA certified dogs.

For those who do not know, OFA listed all certified dogs with positive scores on their website. It is up to owner to decide if they want dogs with bad scores posted. If a dog is listed as elbows tested and not hips, then you should really follow up asking for proof of the hips score as this is a good indication that the hips are not good. Very seldom would a breeder send a dog for elbow Xrays only.

Here is the link for all Boerboels with hips tested. I am not putting down the PennHip method either. Just stating that buyers should be careful because the biggest thing I am noticing looking into one of these dogs is that there are a lot of dogs listed as OFA something that are not OFA certified dogs. Buyers should ask for proof of hip scores, and when in doubt call to verify that the documents are real as well. There are a whole lot fewer dogs on this list than there are peope claiming their dogs have an OFA score.
