Subject: Don't gamble if you can't handle losing

It has nothing to do with research. Harris could have sold you a cur just as well. Neither of them would want to if given the choice but these aren't machines, they're dogs. Who would want to hear nagging and bitching from customers when given the choice for happy customers? Some turn out good, some turn out like crap. The rare breeds will turn out more crap than the long established breeds. Your mistake is in not knowing this when you yourself have admitted, "I am not new to the dog world I have titled dogs in sch and worked for 2 large gsd breeding and training facilities,I went to Germany to train, I have worked with many local police dept. and I'm a certified sch decoy aslo a k9 pro sports jugde."

I've always said that if I were ever to breed dogs, my guarantee would be no guarantee. Guarantees are bs marketing schemes. Who goes out and raises a dog for even a few months, has their kid(s) get attached and then trades it in for another dog when it doesn't perform up to expectations, as if it were a car? Only breeders and very serious competitors, that's who. And they rely on relationships and not on written guarantees. Guarantees are a feel good for the puppy buying public but an insult to a serious dogmans intelligence.

It's a dog and it will get sick, it will die and while you may think it's crap, there's someone else that thinks it's fine. If you don't like risk, don't gamble. If you think the persons honest, you like his dogs, you like what you hear, then all you can do from there is hope your gut is right and that the dog turns out well.

Boerboels and asking for lines of proven working dogs is a paradox. These aren't herders with 100 years of massive collaborative culling and clear goal oriented breeding programs. It's a breed you take a big gamble on and it's a breed that is unsuitable to most. The losses can be big and the rewards can be big as well.
