Thanks Sam

I have read The Dog Father's website and seen his infommercials, and I wasn't impressed. It seems that he is more into training tools and gimmicks than he is into actually building a relationship the dog. I am sure his methods work for the clients that use him. I saw that he is charging $50,000 to attend his school to become a Dog Father training and I think that is ridiculous. The "command collar" is nothing but a plastic version of a pinch. Triple Crown makes a version also.

He talks about pseudo tools. To me, a tool is a tool and only works if you know how to use it. I can imagine he uses a lot of correction training and that's fine for some. I prefer to teach the dog first what is expected and then correct when the dog fails to make the right choices. But only after he fully understands the command.

But this is only my opinion. And as they say, the only thing that two trainers can agree upon is what the third is doing wrong :)
