Some say that to rid yourself of a ghost, a simple "Go away", or "You don't belong here" will get them to leave. A popular belief with ghosts is that they are spirits of people who died so suddenly or tragically that they were somehow unable to acknowledge the fact that they have passed on. Others say that ghosts are simply trying to find someone who can really talk to them and understand them. It must be lonely on the other side, because many ghosts seem to be desperately searching for some sort of communication with the living. However, most people are extremely unnerved by the appearance of a ghost, and obviously not many try to make contact with them. But, as the EVP phenomenon has seemed to prove at times, sometimes a ghost -will- respond to spoken words by a living being. All it really seems to boil down to is that the ghosts are trying to make contact. Suffice it to say, sometimes telling a ghost to "Go away" or telling them they don't belong there will get them to leave. It all depends on how stubborn your ghost is, really.
