Subject: To get the right information of Poveglia

Dear sir or madam:

I watched the most Scariest Places on Earth, on Feb.23,2002 with my son. The way the people acted on this show, got me thinking that this show was fixed. But it also got me thinking to interested in searching the real stories of Poveglia.

This island had a small city of 807 people in its history. At its time it has the best city and had it own goverment that run it. But it was destroyed in 1380 during the war of Genova. This when it became abandoned, until the story of boats of contigous diseases came to the island, but does not say anything about the Black Plaque, so still searching on this subject.

Yes there is a hospital on the island that has been used for the contigous diseases and one information I found it was also for the insane. But is little information so far and still interested to find more information.

In the World War 1 there was a small island in front of the island Poveqlia that was fortified to protect the islands and the minland of Italy. They had about four big guns on ths island that was formed of the octagon.

Poveglia, was a beautiful island filled with popular tree, now it is the fishmen use it to store the nets and other stuff. The people in the area, farmed the vineyards and other gardens. The Italy government did own it at one time but it was sold to someone which abandoned in 1968. According to some information, the people in the area have ghost stories from Poveglia. To this day according to some travel sites Poveglia is a place that tourist is not allowed on this island.

This is what I found so far but since I am interested in this subjuct I will read more on it.

If people watch The Scariest Places ON Earth, and don't think the show is right or think it is fony, then find the information for themself. There are books, web sites and other information to search on this. The more you know the more you can understand about the history of anything,countries and world. The information is in our hands, its how it is used.
