I agree that Buffy & Angel met fairly quick; lots of looks, and we're supposed to beleive that "they're in love.." this teenage "chosen one," and a three-hundred-year old vampire, who's spent most of his "undead" years w/ Darla, even if he feels guilty about it.. With Cordelia, he's already known her for years (on both shows) when they start looking at each other; he's seen her through a LOT; he's seen her change and grow, and become willingly "demon-blooded" so that she can help the world through her visions; he's watched her become confrontational and honest; her character is always brave, and she seems to grow moreso.. And she gets to know, and really cares about him. This was a romance that seemed to proceed more naturally; I believed in it, while with Buffy it was more like, "Well; yeah; we're supposed to believe that you're in love."(Even tho' in both cases, there's the obstacle of "true happiness and you lose you soul!" Like anyone is really able to visualize Angel in a healthy romantic relationship anyway.. "tragic romance," by definition, wasn't built to last (Although not w/ Angel, the show has tried on some "untragic ones")
It doesn't look like it's going to happen, but it was beautiful while it lasted (*sigh*)
