Well, since this thread is still operational, I've decided to post my won opinions about C/A (my fave couple ever!), and also, my opinions on the treatment of the Cordy character, Angel's character, and the shallowness of B/A as well as the certain brand of Fans that support it.
So sit back and enjoy:
It’s funny how some idiots, er, people were saying that Buffy was more important than Cordy to not only the character but to the ‘Series’ of Angel and to his Shanshu all along, despite the fact that:
1. She has appeared on the show a total of two episodes as opposed to Cordy’s FOUR F***ING SEASONS!
2. Has done jack sh*t to help Angel in reaching his redemption the entire time, whereas Cordy has possessed head splitting migraines which have nearly killed her on more than one occasion for the majority of those seasons and still kept them, all of which are for Angel to respond to in his path to achieving redemption. Not to mention giving up her humanity and any chance of having the life she originally came to LA for, plus coming back as a favor she asked of the PTB for the soul purpose of getting Angel back on the right track.
3. The fact that Buffy, to this day, doesn’t even know about the damned Shanshu in the first place, or anything else that has happened to Angel since he moved to LA, through friends or otherwise. I mean Willow and Faith know more about Angel’s life at this point than she does.
And what really infuriates me, is how that b***ard Whedon was noted as saying shortly after her firing that Charisma was not the leading lady of the series (bull****!) or even that important of a character to begin with (garbage!!!). Post the blame of Charisma’s firing on whomever you want, but there was absolutely NO EXCUSE WHATSOEVER for the crap Joss regurgitated from his useless trap here about CC’s character.
So suddenly Cordy puts on a little weight, and BAM, “sorry Cordy, despite all you’ve given up for Angel and ALL you’ve done to keep him on his path of righteousness and ALL the crap that’s happened to your mind, body, and soul (Never ending visions which required countless medications to keep under control [all of which were handled with grace and dignity], painful burns, 2 comas, giving up your humanity and a very lucrative and popular lifestyle, getting hijacked by the PTB you’ve been working for and having your body raped and manipulated by a renegade power, and even your untimely, unnecessary DEATH, etc.) for the sake of his g**damned mission, we’re going to portray everything your character has ever selflessly done for him as completely meaningless and it’s Buffy who is not only going to reap the benefits of Angel’s Shanshu, but is going to be given ALL the credit for helping him to achieve a reward she DOESN’T EVEN KNOW ABOUT!!!” Good luck to those DucKKK a**holes in trying to explain that one. (Just for the record, if Joss does attempt to give Buffy even a shred of credit for Angel’s Shanshu, I will personally make that worthless, moronic pr*ck’s life a living hell).
And as far as that retard’s comment about there being no place left to go with her character (which we all know is just a pathetic excuse to cover his own a$$ about his flat out firing of her) and the mentally handicapped little sh*ts who said her character was beyond repair are concerned; “You’re Welcome” proved all those statements made against Cordy had no legs to stand on. No character, I repeat and emphasize, NO CHARACTER is beyond repair and redemption if the writing is good enough (e.g. David Fury).
And if those baseless statements about Angel supposedly not loving Cordy were even remotely true, what would it say about the 100th episode? That Angel was just lying to and manipulating Cordy with those “I’m lost without you” and “I think about that night all the time” comments simply so he could get a little ‘Hey Hey’? That Angel was nothing more than a lying, shallow, vapid, two-faced motherf***er who treated Cordy (the woman who gave up so much for him and who has just been left in a life threatening coma for the last several months) as some babe-of-the-week to be used and then cast aside (in this case, killed off entirely) so as not to deter from the pointless focus on some non-existent love triangle storyline (A/S/B) that never even got resolved? This is the creep they’re trying to portray as some kind of hero?
Now I don’t know if Spike deserves to take the Shanshu, which has been talked about on Ats since season 1, but if the above evidence is even remotely true, Angel damn sure deserves to lose it! I can’t believe he is even given the name Angel, because no “Angel” would behave so callously by trying to get back with Buffy after all that happened on the other show.
Charisma did not deserve to be brought back for some bull**** “Hallmark greeting card” episode only to get pushed out of the way for the sake of a SMG appearance (which didn’t even happen and NEVER should have been an option to begin with!), because Charisma is, and always will be, more important to ATS than Sarah ever was.
The character of Cordelia did NOT deserve to be treated like some cheap, convenient booty call who’s only purpose in life was to keep Angel warm while the b*tch of Rome decided whether or not her f***ing cookies were done baking (without a doubt the most retarded, annoying analogy in the history of television). Her worthiness for Angel’s love, as well as her characters entire self worth should never have been based on her “less than flattering” comments of the Scoobies fashion sense. Her entire character’s self worth should never be based solely on her BTVS stint (HER CHARACTER RAN 4 MORE SEASONS!!!). She put up with and went through too much crap on ATS to be treated like some shortcut, or in other cases, roadblock in the path to Buffy, and she sure as hell did not give up her f***ing life just so he could go running back to that arrogant blond harlot. (P.S. “The Girl in Question” episode still would have sucked and still would have butchered the characters of Angel and Spike whether or not SMG made an appearance, if anything, an appearance would have made it even worse). This is not a pro-C/A thing or an anti-B/A thing, this is a plain old “MORALITY” thing.
If Angel’s path to redemption involved a girl, then Cordy’s actions in the last 5 seasons make her more than worthy to be that girl. After all, she was there for him in the end (Power Play).
I don’t care what character or ship you are loyal to for whatever reason you can come up with, and I don’t give a flying f*ck what ANY of your opinions are towards the portrayal of her character last year, because it is all completely irrelevant, and “NO” argument you can give can change that fact, no matter what.
So keep it up Cordy bashers (venomous f***s the DucKKKS, especially, along with various other idiotic wh**es like Gia), you can NEVER take that away from her.
I don’t think that B/A was just a crush, just like I didn’t think W/O was just some fling, but I don’t believe that it should be prioritized over everything else either. Bottom line, if Joss truly believes that the B/A romance crap transcends everything after all that’s happened on both shows, then the Whedonverse is going to die a very SHALLOW and POINTLESS death.
I’m sorry if this rant offended the B/A fans (except the DucKKKs, those worthless, festering pieces of rat excrement can rot to hell), but I just cannot support a ship that result in good people around them being severely hurt or that makes one half of the pair look like a heartless, two-timing bastard.
It’s a damned shame that CC’s pregnancy and a few vocal, bitter shippers (DucKKKs) had to push Joss to ruin the character of Angel entirely.
