I know the frustration. Skybusters ruined my hunt on the opener, and I was pissed off for a while about it. Just rest assured that pretty much everybody around is not having good hunts. This is typical to not see many birds this time of year. It happens every year, but usually happens 2 or 3 weeks into the season. This year since the seasons are pushed back, it happens to fall near opening weekends. I was down checking on things yesterday, and saw 4 Gadwall on the Mallard hole, 10 or so on the Lilypad hole, 2 Mallards on the Woodduck hole, a load of Gads on the Corner and middle tank, but still none on the borrow ditches. That means no migration going on. There have also been a few woodies hanging around. No body hunted the bottoms this weekend at all, so the opening day everybody hunting is over. There will be very few times when there are more than 2 groups. There's just nothing to move birds right now. The next good front should brang 'em in, but I'm more hoping for rain.

As for Bristol, it is a 400 acre gravel pit area that we have access to. Right now only myself and my dad can hunt it, but we are tryng to convice the landowner to lease it. If he does, we will offer the lease hunters a chance to buy into it. We'll let ya know when the landowner lets us know. Many of the current lease hunters have hunted it in the past, and love the area. It was horrible Sat. since we didn't even fire a shot.
