You have reduced the gospel to an act of our own will, which speaks contrary to Scripture. God says that we were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. Our attitudes and actions are transformed by God's giving us new life in Christ. He has quickened us, who were once dead in sin. And dead people can't realize anything. As for our emotions, they can't be trusted, as our hearts are deceitful above all things and desperately wicked.
