We have recently had an instance where a laptop was returned to Quantum for repair and the item was collected, repaired and returned directly to us within 4 days.

Due to the above it has been suggested by Bill that the following procedures be carried out on laptop repairs

Faulty within 14 days of delivery

Should an item be faulty within the first 14 days then we will be able to offer an SCO for all hardware faults. Should the fault be software related (which Quantum Technical support can confirm over the telephone) then the item should be repaired by our own engineer. Where an SCO be completed it is imperative that all disc’s and instructions booklets are collected with the item – failure to do so will result in the item being unfit for return.

Faulty after 14 days of delivery

It has been suggested that for a trial period we do not send an engineer on a faulty laptops, but ring the Technical Support number which is 08701970000 give details of the fault occurring and they will decide if the laptop should be returned. If the laptop needs returning to Quantum an RMA number will be issued, this number must then be recorded on the BAYV job number and the customer details passed to Technical Support, who will in turn send a carrier direct to customer for collection and return direct to customer once repaired.
