Subject: heart-stopper - wolves... blood lust....

An eerie battle cry sounded as she watched him lift his muzzle to the heavens and howl. Challenge. He wanted her blood, and in a strange way, she wanted his too. The blood lust was upon them.

She sent forth her own song, one of acceptance and that of the blood thirsty predator. She accepted his challenge and as her voice died off and was carried away by the wind she took up her battle stance. She laced her auds tightly back 'gainst her crown which was lowered t'wards the lithosphere to protect her windpipe, hackles rising 'long her withers and croup, apex of her plume fluttering, and pedates spread evenly to create a firm base; her lips r'treated to expose gleaming iv'ries as a blood chilling snarl ripped forth to complete the image.

Her chasms marked him as he circled 'round her, his own hackles raised as he snarled menacingly in return. She turned slowly, always keeping her head low and in his direction. When he rushed her she met him with gnashing fangs and her shoulder. She whirled on him, her own iv'ries meeting his flesh and tearing. It was a test. A test of survival and only the strongest and smartest wins. The victor is the better wolf. The more determined.
