Subject: Winter maintenance on the Ohio Turnpike this season

Winter maintenance on the Ohio Turnpike this season was pretty decent this winter. Last winter it was next to nothing.Did someone sue the Turnpike Commission over an accident?Lake effect was mild in Ohio but heavy east of Gary,Indiana. There whiteouts were the norm.

Winter is about over and the cars are rolling along pushing eighty mph.The Swanton Post of the OHP is upping the volume of trucks being ticketed. The old safe range of 55-60 mph no longer applies as 60 mph trucks are being nailed for 65 mph.Nothing like padding the speed to meet the quota and 65 mph on the ticket adds credibility to their efforts, not to mention extra points at your home state. This must be the Buckeye Bonus plan of giving the Truckers a little extra. Now 55-58 mph seems to be the safe range. The high volume of trucks ticketed seems to extend from the Ohio West Line to the 55 mile marker. From the 55 mile marker to the Pennsylvania line nothing unusual seems to be going on.Rumor has it that the Troopers from the Swanton Post are required to write at least one ticket for every hour that they are on duty. They have been doing this and then some.
