it doesnt take a genius to notice that the "HISSA T Shirts" are selling fairly well when you take a look around the Phoenix Bar,
i have been approached by a few fans who share the same feeling as me regarding the Hissa Logo,
that if it were a bit more graphically designed then the shirt sales would go through the roof ??
obviously these are just opinions, but I would be interested to hear from you, if you discuss this at your regular meetings and let me know the outcome,

cheers,

gazsteevo...

I had the pleasure of being involved with your club in the earlier nineties, out of Elland Rd. I would just like to say thank you to the people involved with HISSA for assisting in keeping the great club going. As this is the only place to contact Hunslet could someone suggest an e-mail place to the club site so as to contact old friends. Also could someone pass on my best to Roy and best of luck.

Regards

I have for many a year obtained great pleasure from the game of rugby league, from being the Hunslet Mascot to playing the game and now youth coaching.

Despite living in lancashire, my roots will always lie in Hunslet and I will gladly be commiting £5 of my hard earned brass to the good of the club.

However wouldn't it be nice if said players who took their pound of flesh from this hallowed club were to make the same commitment or indeed assisted in raising funds to pull the pheonix from the ashes.

I can think of several players who are either still in the Super league/pro areana or the rugby union world who wouldn't miss £5 and really owe some loyalty to the area and club that launched their success

Bob. At last night's HISSA meeting, I mentioned your suggestion to Roy Sampson about a Players vs Fans Rugby Match as an idea for raising money for HISSA. He felt that it might be a better idea, though, if some time during the summer, a cricket match was arranged between Players and Fans. He also suggested that it could be run alongside a BBQ, and with a few tinnies knocking around for all concerned, this might represent the best idea. So yes, get some batting practice in some time between now and springtime, and if we can somehow get it organised, you could find yourself opening the batting with Big Al. Best Wishes. Tony.

Bob. Unfortunately, Roy didn't make the meeting for once. There is another meeting next Tuesday, though, so hopefully this time I will get the chance to ask him. Again, I'll let you know what he says.

On the face of it, I'd say it was an excellent idea, but whether Roy Sampson would agree to it is another matter. No point in denting the player's confidence, which would surely happen if Peter Whiteley was to score one of his length-of-the-field breakaway tries, but I promise to put the question to Roy Sampson at the next HISSA meeting on the 19th November. I'll let you know what he says. If anything of this nature is going to be planned, though, chances are that it would be something of a more gentile nature, like cricket or football. Watch this space.

SO DOESN'T ANYONE THINK THAT MY IDEA OF A FRIENDLY GAME OF PLAYERS VS SUPPORTERS IS A GOOD ONE?

Alan, one of the things we discussed at last week's meeting was the possibility of setting up a fanzine. Whether it is a fanzine that runs alongside the Parksider or one that replaces it is something we'll have to have a natter with you about some time over a pint.

Why dont the HISSA committee take on the mag' and improve its content, and sell it for a £1 per copy. The supporters club committee would have to be consulted, but I do feel this is a viable proposition. All other clubs charge for their fanzines, and some are no better than the present Parksider. What do the committe think of this suggestion?

Just a test message. As outlined above, this Message Board has been set up to allow you the opportunity to put forward suggestions on anything to do with HISSA (Hunslet Independent Supporters Squadbuilder Association). This could be anything from ideas about how extra funds might be raised, to queries that you might have about HISSA itself and that you would like explaining. Members of the HISSA committee will be keeping close tabs on any messages left here ready to answer any questions you may have, so please fire away. Should you have any points to raise about the team itself, please post those messages on the Message Board whose link can be found on the Unofficial Site at www.thehunsletmatch.fsnet.co.uk, and www.hunslethawks.com
