Likewise, I have been visiting the battlefield at Perryville since I was a young boy. I have been there early in the morning, and late at night. While I can't say that I have ever seen a "ghost" or "spirit," there is definitely a "feeling" you get at certain times when you are there. I know some of the folks who work at the museum will tell you that the grounds are haunted. If you know anything about the aftermath of the battle and the suffering that was endured not only by the troops, but by the civilians as well, it would certainly seem possible that there may be some restless souls still wandering the hills over which the battle was fought. In some respects, I think it is all in what each individual believes.
