I live in Lawrence County and for about 3 years straight, we had a "large cat" of some kind killing our animals. One night around 1am, I heard one of my little puppies yelping as it ran towards my house. When I got to it, it's side had been completly ripped open, 3 large claw marks, as clean as a razor. The puppy's mother was never seen again, we assume she was eaten or killed while trying to protect her babies. A few nights later I heard this cat, and as I shined a light near the tree line, I saw 2 big bright yellow eyes...and then it ran away. Similar things followed the next few years, and there were lots of reports of peoples dogs, goats, horses, and other animals being attacked. One of our neighbors claimed to have seen this black cat during the day. However any gamewarden will happily tell you, those kind of animals do not exist in this area.
