The farrier removed the stallion's shoes with his pincers and filed off the overgrown horn. The shoes were in the furnace. He put one to his left fore, Smoke billowed from the hoof. The shoe was a little too wide. He placed it on the anvil, and with the hammer, bent it to the correct shape. He cooled the shoe in the water and put it to the stallion's hoof again. He used the hammer to drive in the clenches, making sure not to prick the horse's sole. he continued to do the same to the remaining hoofs.
"He's all done Jake." The farrier said, when finished. "Who do you want done next?" He added, patting the stallion's neck.
