Well this is the new update in the music scene.

1)Youth Park are having gigs every 3rd sat of the month which means this sat, it is in the afternoon. I think it is cool to chack it out

2)There is a Band Festival at Dec and they are asking for bands. The organiser have also arrange for band to play every sunday afternnon at a Club Oosh! (ex shooters) in Clark Quay. We have ard 45 min to perform for the sunday thingy and if we play we can also be included in the Band Festival 2002 in Dec. Asked Ronghui abt it but he say should go check it out first like wat kind of music they play and so on. BUT I FEEL THAT SINCE THEY SAY ANY TYPE OF BAND MUSIC. WE CAN JUST EMAIL THEM AND SAY WE ARE INTERESTED. SOMETIMES WE NEED TO BE A BIT THINK-SKINNED TO PROMOTE THE BAND. So my suggestion is go with it. Exposure is good.

3) I noe that YC have a fren who might be doing a recording for us. But I come across 3 GIRLS doing their final project in NTU requesting for a band for recording of Mandarin Album. Audition is required. I was thinking. This is good to go for as many audition as possible so that we a big audition come, we will be ready. Exposure is good(Sorry for repeating) Besides it is 3 girls leh (no offence to Jinfeng)

Joel, this is amazing! Great work... I'm really excited just hearing about all these. I agree with you thorougly --> Exposure!!!

But the list of to dos is too long, please create a check list for easier reference, yes? Please include things like GR's BD performance, Youth Park - XinLang, Album recordings @ my place, Album recordings @ YC's friend's, NTU gal's kantaoz, etc... and the whole lot of stuffs coming up about the performance...

It will be easier for us to keep track and have a rough idea of what's to come.

-----
My comment 1: yes, exposure... its gonna be very busy, hectic, and hell lots of work. Be prepared.

-----
My comment 2: I agree with Ronghui. After the Rhap**** incident, I think we ganna bitten liaoz... better check to make sure first. Don't rush into things. If its gonna be a anything-goes performance, we still must be careful. What if all bands are mat and the audience are all mat-rockers? Then we ganna boo down the stage also possible. Right?

-----
Again, nice PR.

Well Cedric Thanx for the encouragement. But there is something that i have to disagree. I think u say that u agree with ronghui. For me I think yes we got bitten during rhapsody but that is something not bring us down. In singapore music scene, there are lot of Malay bands. so if we scared of this and scared of that it is very difficullt to excel. Risk taking is necessary. If there is a lot of mat rocking and we dun wan to go. we might miss out on an chance. a great chance who noes. I think the first step of our band is to be known here in Singapore and recognise by local band. Going for this type of thingy get us in touch with the rest of the local bands. We cannot always be stuck in Kallang all our lifes.
(no offence)

I am not scared to compete wif the MATS, it's jus that i feel we are NOT ready yet.. I was excited abt yesterday's Youth Park thing bcos basically i tink we r ready for the thing they want, which is local chinese composition..

Yes, the MATS r abit SIAO at times, focusing more on the 'heaviness' of their music rather than the feel and everything.. BUT they r technically good.. Wat i scared is our confidence and morale w be shaken if we take part in a high level competition straight away (although i understand our band always puts in EXTRA effort to improve whenever we haf competitions or performances) Wat we can do now is find lobangs which can PUSH us but at the same time smething realistic.. If the Band Festival fits this criteria i will definitely say GO for it..

The lobangs n research by weikai is very impt,i feel, bcos i agree wif weikai tt we cant be stuck forever in Kallang.. If we r good, we MUST let the world noe..
