Thanks for making an outstanding website. Being born and raised in LA, I remember visiting CMSI many, times. This site has brought back many great memories. I stood for hours at the Air Traffic Control room, which was divided between a control tower cab and an airliner cockpit (complete with sound and visuals). I also remember that the hallway near the Mathmatics Room had many model airplanes on display. The show stopper was the model train room. Admission ten cents. Probably the finest model rail layout of its time, and one of the largest. I would have to watch every scene change from night to day and back again. Probably not a favorite of my parents as they usually had to wait this one out. Other favorites inclued the redwood room downstairs and the harbor room: one side San Pedro/Long Beach the other San Francisco.
Does anyone know where the Chrysler Turbine Car went?
It is a shame that our current museum in no way comes close to the greatness that it once was. If only we could bring it back.
