Subject: the old CMSI

Thanks for the great site. I grew up with frequent visits to the park and both museums. Here are some pearls that stick in my mind: The diorama of the LA harbor at night when you walked in (as well as the optical counter at the gate); a chemical “cake” cooked up by a lecturer using a cake mold; a turntable demonstrating gyroscopic precession – the same lecturer held a spinning bicycle wheel and used it to spin himself in circles – great demo; 16mm films shown in the theater; the old kinescopes (I think?) that spun and displayed a moving image using slits and mirrors; the jet engine and smoke chamber to demonstrate an airfoil; the alarm clock in a vacuum chamber – boy this is fun reminiscing about this great place. Thanks for the opportunity.
