Subject: Hall of Economics and Finance

A perfectly good, newly constructed building--they just knocked it down. What kind of evil gremlins run the new place? They will not even acknowledge the existence of the Mark Taper Hall of Economics and Finance. Why did they destroy it? I can remember playing Bongo Beads, and a wonderful display that really explained the concept of the velocity of money--not to mention an early (and free!) public internet site. There were lectures on the stock market, comparisons of economic systems, even a small gift shop (that didn't last long) where you could purchase foreign coins and currency--it is all gone, crushed by a bulldozer.
