Subject: Jogged my memory

Thanks to all for great reminders - may I add: the working jet engine and "silent" alarm clock in a vacuum jar in the aviation section; my fear of the static generating machine; a live lecture when the presenter made a chemical cake & demonstrated gyroscopic precession with a bicycle wheel on a turntable (he spun around!); the lollypops with pictures in them at the gift shop; the zoetrope creating moving pictures, the distorted painting viewed normally in a conical mirror sitting in the middle -- much of my education outside of school occured at this museum. It will forever be a part of me.
