Are you running the credit card scanner? You need to shut that down first, then you need to end SPCWIN. If that doesn't work, you may need to reload your positouch program.
I really haven't had any experience with an incomplete shutdown, but I'll ask around.

We are a POSitouch dealer located in Albany, NY.
The reason your terminals go to the white ready screen and then drop back to Windows Desktop is that there is a resource conflict with COM ports or terminal ID. POSIterm cannot launch successfully with conflicts, so it shuts down leaving you at the desktop.

You may have added a comport device, or the files that store the POSitouch settings may have become corrupt.
