Subject: Careful with propagating mistranslations of the Qur'an...

Assalamu Alykum,

So dawah organizations spend a lot on dawah every year and knowing that the Qur’an is the best dawah tool they regularly distribute free copies of the Qur’an. You always wonder: Did any of the people who got copies of the Qur’an ever read it? Did they know from where to begin reading? Did they know how to get around the Qur’an? Was the translation of the Qur’an good and engaging? Will they come back to me to ask “what do you mean you can’t take a Jew or a Christian as a friend!” when you know that this is a mistranslation of the Qur’anic verses? Will I have to nag them to read it? Will they ever read it?!

The fact of the matter is that these questions are hard to answer. People often get intimidated by books that they haven’t seen or heard before. Add to this the fallacies being propagated in the media that the Qur’an is a “book of violence” or a “book of hate,” and the fact that existing Qur’anic translations use poor or outdated English.

What if there was a solution that would introduce the Qur’an in a beautiful, engaging, accurate, and appropriately-guided way! You need not wait anymore. QuranNow.com offers melodious recitations of selected chapters of the Qur'an followed by a unique and powerful audio translation of the verses into modern American English. QuranNow.com has painstakingly prepared a new translation that is easy, accurate, accessible, fluent, and descriptive. The audio translation is delivered by award-winning author and poet El-Hajj Mauri Saalakhan. The selected chapters serve as proper entry points into the Qur’an covering issues of belief, inter-religious dialogue, morality, and mannerisms along with striking accounts of the interaction between different prophets and their nations.

Join numerous dawah organizations who have made the QuranNow.com CD’s their dawah tool of choice. Try it today and see the results immediately! Visit http://www.QuranNow.com today, listen to audio samples and free downloads, and take advantage of our special offers.
