Subject: Ravenna

The Ravenna Ravens ended up beating Kent Roosevelt Rough Riders 27-6 in Week 10 of the 2002 season. The victory was very emmotional for Ravenna, but also for the Raven Seniors. The last time the seniors beat Kent was in the 1999 campaign when the Ravens went to the playoffs. The past two years they lost two close games which were both hard fought, but that is all in the past. There were two achievements made that need recognition, Ryan Mattie RB/DB had gotten over 1,000 yards rushing in his sr. year, and Sr. WR/S Chris Allen got his 8th interception which would raise the single season record by 1. The seniors for Ravenna really did a good job including...White, Sanders, Medina, Dowdy, Brown, Berry and Loftin was good just with the 5 fumble exception. With all these seniors gone who will fill there roles??? Mattocks, Waynek, Nelms, Boyd, Carter, Popson, Space, Powell... this is also a very good class, but we will see how many of them get into the weightroom and get their mind and body right to better the already improved 3-7 record set before them. The JV team didn't look to bad this year, this past year has been the best for a couple of years. Well lets get prepped up for wrestling and basketball shall we?
