While the Myth community has been in a steady state of decline for the past 6 months (with PlayMyth having no way to register new accounts), things have actually picked up a bit with the transition to mariusnet. The game lobbies seem to be pretty busy, the forums are active, people are planning tournaments, a new update for m2 is in development, and there is a constant stream of new registrations coming in.

What's more, this is actually a great opportunity for growth. We now have a server that can:
a) Actually register new accounts allowing new people to play
b) support guest accounts allowing for people who have just downloaded the demo to get right into the thick of it.

This is the first time in years that Myth has been so well positioned for growth.

Also with the launch of the new mnet website, the closing of PlayMyth, and the loosely related news that bungie is splitting from MS weve got a great opportunity to make some big headlines.

Basically, we've got everything we could reasonably ask for with one exception. Rather than facilitate this transition to a new metaserver Blades has decided to throw one more little power play and has simply shut everything down with no mention or mariusnet rather than do something useful.

That's his choice of course, it's just a really really lame choice.

Anyway, it seems like small potatoes compared to all the other exciting great things happening.
