Hello. My name is Lettucleaf. I am usually hanging about on the Laughing Place, making parodys and joking about. I am not a canon character, not at all, but there is something you don't know about me. I go by Hakuna Matata. I put my past behind me, and concentrate on what's right there behind me. But lately, I've been finding it hard to do that. And so now, to all of my freinds, and to those that I don't know, I tell my tale, the epic of me, my father, and my mother, Moonbeam the Martyer.
************************************************************
It was a cold winter night. Moonbeam sat shivering by the firelight next to her husband, Firstrip Coratio. Firstrip was a Colonel in the Long Patrol. He wasn't proud of the fact. Because he was now known as Firdrop the Lawbender.
It all happened when the mighty Badger Lord Snowstripe, son of the great Russano the wise, took in a gypsy hare named Moonbeam Leggotia. Moonbeam was the sort of woodlander that you would find on a vermin ship, dressed in rags and shivering. Moonbeam was carrying a small bundle-a baby hare, almost dead-and pleaded Snowstripe for shelter from the ferocious winter days.
Firdrop saw Moonbeam and immediately fell in love. But his superior hares and his Badger Lord forbade him from marrying Moonbeam. As pleasent and needy as she was, she was gypsy and could very well be working for vermin.
But Firdrop knew that Moonbeam was good to the center of her heart. Firdrop took her hand in marriage.
Snowsrtipe was enraged at this. Firdrop had directly disobeyed his dire orders. So the Badger Lord declared Firdrop and Moonbeam the Outcasts and Lawbreakers of Salamandastron. He cruelly shunned them and bade them to leave. Forever.
Snowstripe was not the wise Badger Lord that his father had been.
Moonbeam traveled with Firdrop the Lawbreaker in search of the great place known as redwall Abbey. But the winter was cruel. Moonbeam was never fated to make it.
It was a cold winter night. Moonbeam sat shivering by the firelight next to her husband, Firstrip Coratio. Firstrip was a Colonel in the Long Patrol. He wasn't proud of the fact. Because he was now known as Firdrop the Lawbreaker.
The it happened. Moonbeam have birth to two twins: Lettuceleaf Dewdrop Leggotia Coratio and Cabbagestem Branchealth Leggotia Coratio. The two parents were now determined to make it to Redwall.
Only one of them ever made it. A cruel vermin named Fenrourke decided to rob our tiny family. When he saw we had nothing, he slew Moonbeam. It was a full moon. Moonbeam had said that all of her gypsy clan were to die on the full moon. Now it was fated to be.
Fenrourke, of course, ran away in fear of Firstrip, the hare warrior blood rising. Firstrip pledged that Cabbagestem and Lettuceleaf would make it to Redwall just before Moonbeam died.
The redwall Gatekeeper heard a knocking at the door. He opened it, and saw a hare dressed in rags and holding two babies. He had frostbite from the bitter cold and was slowly dying. He gave the two babes to the Gatekeeper.
"Take them. Take care of them. Make sure they don't fall to the same fate as me." he said. Then, at the threshold of Redwall, his promise fullfilled, he died.
************************************************************
I am only a Dibbun. I want to live by Hakuna Matata. I don't want dark thoughts rushing through my head. But I swear, on my dead parent's grave, one day I will find Fenrourke and slay him!
But enough of these dark stories. Come, to Great Hall. There is always food at the table here. Let us live by Hakuna Matata and eat and drink in peace.
