Half Moon and Dupuis come to mind. This rule is not designed to create trophy animals but more to allow a better balanced deer herd. Not many hunters would consider a 3pt a "trophy". If more young bucks make it to 2 years they become harder to hunt especially in a hard hunted "open" mgt. area. With more bucks making it through 1 or 2 seasons you have a better buck/doe ratio, more importantly you have more bucks available to be harvested. For the first couple of years the kill in a given area will be down but eventually it will equal the pre-fork rule harvest and the best part will be that the bucks overall weight and antler size will be larger. What could be better than that?
