He tried to take deep, even breaths, eyes gone wide with either terror or surprise. The male's back stiffened, as if frozen in place. He locked his arms by his side, deciding that if he was to shove the shifter off of him, the human would definitely be overpowered. "Cr-Crux?" Wasn't this all to help him? Maybe the guy had some miracle spit or something, like vampires? Probably not. The human male inhaled deeply through his nose, picking up the musky scent of Crux even with his pathetic human senses. It calmed him a little, if only because it reminded him of Lucielle. His eyes slid shut, picturing Lucielle here, instead of Crux. That would have been a much happier picture.
