While Robert was playing David Spenser on "The Waltons" he went by Robert Merritt Woods. Does anyone have a reason to where the Merritt came from?
Also, after he left "The Waltons" about a year later an actor named Christopher Woods continued to play Dr. David Spenser. He and Robert look EXACTLY alike. Does Robert have a twin brother named Christopher who is also an actor or was that just another "stage name" like the Merritt was? It would be interesting to know since twins run in families (they run in both my and my husband's family) and Robert's son Tanner was a twin.
