Subject: lass enters.

A adolescent lass of about 7 years walked into the Town Square carrying a fiddle case in one hand and a harp on her back. Thick black hair fell in a braid to her waist as ice blue eyes glanced around at all the citizens here and for the first time in years, the girl felt scared. She looked back and reached for her horse's mane. Once she found it, she leaned on the bay mare's back.
"Come on Swifty" she told her horse. We have to find someplace to stay. At that instant, a petite scarlet fox darted out from beneath Swifty's legs.
"Oh, Sneak. Don’t trip me. Please. I wonder where Fi is.” She looked to the heavens and sees a minute dot that was her bald eagle, gyrating above her. Okay, Fi’s out of harm's way. She thought. And Squeak is here with me She patted a little leather pouch an her hip.Nolaka taught me well. She may have been a hard teacher, but she was a good one. I hope I will be able to visit her someday. I miss her already. She saved me from the river. I almost drowned. I owe her my life but what do I do??? Rage began to build in her at her own actions. I leave her. And why? Her rage subsided as she answered her question. To get money to send to her. I remember the first day we met. I was looking in the river, and I fell in. Then, there she came, like an angel from heaven, only not so pretty. She smiled wryly at the thought. I learned to deal with her features. They didn’t matter. Just what she knew. What I now know. All the tricks of how to survive in the wilderness. How to start a small fire without matches. How to sing and play an instrument. These will all help me survive. As long as I find a place to use these skills. Salara looked around, trying to find out where she should first go and decided that she should devote her mind to finding a place to sleep.
