I would like to suggest a short story. The story was mentioned earlier in a discussion about the work of Shirley Jackson, author of <i>The Haunting of Hill House</i>. Her most famous work is a short story called, "The Lottery". I'm pretty sure that you can find this story on the net if you don't have a hard copy, you can download it. -- The Book Club
