Hello Women!
Thank you so much for responding to our call for networking for Global
Goddess. We created a board/forum as a means to communicate with each
other. We wanted women to be able to talk at the regional level and yet,
still cross over to other areas if there were posts of interest to them
elsewhere. We felt a single list might be too overwhelming.
Well, the board seems to be a bit confusing to some - easy for others, but
what appears to be happening is that women are coming - dropping in to say
hello and then disappearing.
Certainly, that is not our hope here. Creating another huge e-list,
ultimately is not our goal either. However, we may need a list to get
things going.
Please send an e-mail to your Regional Rep Kriss at kriss@globalgoddess.org or to info@globalgoddess.org and tell me if you prefer the
board/forum or would like to be a part of a group list. Perhaps if we start
out with one list and eventually also have regional lists for local business
this will help.
What we hope Global Goddess will be is a grass roots level connector for
woman all around the globe. Some of us are very fortunate in that we live
in metropolitan areas where there are circles, covens, workshops, classes -
goddess shops, pagan bookstores - we have it all. And meeting other women
can be simple if you know where to look.
However, there are more women, I believe, who are living a bit more
remotely - isolated from meeting places, who would meet with others if they
could find them.
So that is what we hope to happen. Stage one - connecting in cyber space.
Stage two - connecting in person. Once women can come together, forming
small groups - not structured as covens might be but more for social
purposes - other women to talk with - share with - then those women can
begin to make things happen in their region. They can start small - host an
event - perhaps a workshop. Perhaps a craft fair - they might even be
ambitious enough to try for a weekend campout. Never can tell!
You say - but .... but .... but..... I don't know how to do that! No, I
didn't know how the first time I did it either, but I found someone who did
and I asked questions. We have here - already forming - a network of women
who DO know how. Women who have done it and who are willing to share in the
"how to" of it all.
OK! Let's say there are five of you - perhaps one of you knows a couple of
other women who work with some local groups, covens - say you want to put on
an event - well - do it - ask for their help - get the word out - ask women
to share with you in their skills - pool your talents - and host something!
When you put out the word - advertise in your area - post to Witches Voice -
and anywhere else you can think of - put out flyers everywhere - don't go
out looking to make money on this - do it because you care - cover your
expenses - but make it affordable to all - your five women will turn into 25
to 50 - and that is a PROMISE!
So for now - we need to work like crazy women - getting the word out. Feel
free to make flyers from the material on the website - we will have one
downloadable soon - use the written information posted there to let women
know what we want to do - eventually we will have the numbers and we can
become a strong force - of Goddess Women working to help women worldwide!
