VoyForums Announcement: Programming and providing support for this service has been a labor of love since 1997. We are one of the few services online who values our users' privacy, and have never sold your information. We have even fought hard to defend your privacy in legal cases; however, we've done it with almost no financial support -- paying out of pocket to continue providing the service. Due to the issues imposed on us by advertisers, we also stopped hosting most ads on the forums many years ago. We hope you appreciate our efforts.

Current tasks available for those wishing to volunteer:

1. Support Volunteers: Instead of fixing problems, we're spending hours and hours each day handling user support -- if any of you think you are interested in helping us with support, we've designed some special (new) ways for a few select volunteers to assist other users. Contact us from our contact form and give us a URL to your forum or webpage so we can look it over as a prelimiary review, just to see what you're about before we spend too much time showing you how to handle users.

   It's a plus for you to know how to use IRC so we can talk live.

2. Complaints Volunteers: An increasing amount of our time has been reviewing complaints of our Terms of Service (TOS). This detracts from the time we can spend on improving our service and fixing problems. We are looking for mature, articulate people who are well respected in their communities. We have developed a system where our TOS volunteers can seemlessly handle violation complaints. Contact us from our contact form and give us a URL to a community that you parcticipate in. Due to the sensetive nature of this task, we will be closely reviewing the applicants. If you are involved in online disputes or flame wars, please do not apply, as we will not consider such applicants. We will also allow our visitors to comment upon our volunteers so that people involved in disputes are screened out.
3. Programmers: Are you a programmer? We'd like to allow willing programmers help with some aspects of the service. If you are an experienced programmer, please contact us and list the languages you know and areas you have worked in.
4. Web Design/Themes: As you may have guessed, Web and Graphics design is not our forte. We would like to beautify VoyForums, while still adhering to our function-over-form beliefs. We are also looking for contributors to create more themes which the admins can choose from for their forums. If you're a web designer or hobbyist, and would like to contribute in this way, please contact us. Please include URLs to your work or send it as attachments in e-mail.
