Subject: Ban Lists - how to stop banning others accidentally

Hi,

I have problems regards my ban lists which works but it also stops others who aren't causing a problem from posting. For example if the IP's (?) look like this:

webcacheh05a.cache.pol.co.uk 195.92.67.38
webcacheh07a.cache.pol.co.uk 195.92.67.40
195.92.67.36
195.92.67.37

Do I ban the whole thing ie:
webcacheh05a.cache.pol.co.uk 195.92.67.38

or just the last bit:
195.92.67.38

It then seems that that same person's IP keeps changing each time they log on.

The above is one person's ID. However someone else who is okay, has an IP of
webcache06a.cache.po1.co.uk 195.92.67.39

and she has been having problems accessing to post at my site. I've temporarily taken away the first bit of ban ie webcache etc and she's been able to post; though she says she still occasionally has problems. I assume that each time she logs on her IP is different??

My question is, why is her IP almost so identical to the above person's? They are two different people. Could it be they are using the same email host etc? How do I ban the first one without banning the second one whose IP is almost similar? Do I suggest she change email addresses? If it is just a case of changing email addresses to get through the problem, then surely those that cause trouble and read in will know what to do to evade the ban list, ie change your email address?

Please help! This has been baffling us for months and this one person can't get to post because of someone else who stirs things up deliberately.
