Acronyms. Who ever thought the Post Office would be on the leading edge of technology. I mean they had acronyms way before WTF ever became cool for texting. So here's mine for today NDBS. Numbers Driven Bulls@#*! That's describes the time when we give up all common sense and just do whatever makes us look good on paper. In spite of the consequences. Ya see, the person on the other end of the numbers chain, can't see the big picture because the paper with all the 'really good' numbers blocks the view of what is really going on. Those numbers after all are what gives people upward mobility, and that IS what is important. And what is really going on of course is a decrease of quality customer service. I know, we're a business and the bottom line is important. But I do think we fail to give customer service it's due when we consider ourselves a service business. Personally, I think the Postal Service has decided what the customer is looking for instead of relying on customers to tell us. If asked, I think their answer would be childishly simple. The want their mail. Period. It's what they don't want that you could write a book about. Let's say, delivery of mail at 7pm. Or an excuse why that happened. I suppose MSP scans would be a start to addressing that. But we've had them for quite some time and nothing has improved. Nothing. That's because of NDBS. You see, the number is 100%. I'm not sure what that gets you but a pat on the back. But I'm really certain it doesn't get you mail any earlier or even at a consitant time. IMHO as a competitor I would look at what we're doing and I'd be LMAO. And with that I'm going to say L8R
