Hi there, not sure if you can use any of these but for decor: make swags out of raffia and flowers
picnic tables with checkered/gingham tablecloths
mason jars filled with flowers
a couple wagon wheels propped up
possibly bales of hay but not sure if you can get that now.
can put the drinks in the big galvanized tubs

games:depending on ages of people, if having youngsters there you can do tug a war, jumprope, sack races(can get from oriental trading). They also have cute carnival games you might want to look at. Horseshoes and croquet. Lots of dancing! Possibly throw beanbags in cowboy hats or boots?

favors: little pails with candy, whoopie pies

I'll see if I can come up with anything else. That's all I can think of right now.

Use kids boots for the tables also. With or without flowers. If you are able to get some wheat stalks also, make great decorations. Either tall stalks or shorter ones for the table.

We had a western day at my work for indidviduals with disabilites. We had a scavenger hunt and also made homemade butter. Use baby food jars and pour whipping cream a little less than half full and let them shake it into butter. The first one to make theirs into butter was the winner. We also had a pop corn machine like the one at the movies and passed out free pop corn. Bought inexpensive juice drinks and played ring toss, if they rung one it was their prize. We used empty cans wrapped with checkered material and added sunflowers for the tables

I sent this yesterday but it doesn't appear today. Go figure.
We have held a games night at out church for a number of years but we use cards and board games and rotate around the room. As an ice breaker we used a roll of toilet paper and asked each person to take as many squares as they think they need (not saying what it will be used for).
After each person has their squares they have to tell everyone else some thing (for each square) about themselves that others wouldn't know. Examples: hobbies, where they were born, trips they have taken etc.
Even after knowing some of the people for many years we found out new information and it was fun.

For decor you can use bales of hay, cowboy hats, boots. If you can get someone to paint a cardboard outhouse it would probably be the talk of the event. Hugs, katieangelamber

If someone is good taking pictures with a digital camera, have a place for photos. Wal-Mart photo machines can easily add extra touches such a border to a 4 X 6 photo for no extra charge.
