Subject: Front doors of my 2005 Optima will not open

I have been fighting with Kia all day. I am almost positive that Stephen Kings Christine was inspired by my car. When I drive down the road the car locks and and locks by it's self. I can not open my front doors at all. I have to climb in and out of my car by the back seat. OR if I'm feeling really fistey I can attempt to dukes and hazzard it. This is a serious safety issue. If somthing should happen I would never be able to able to get out of my car fast enough. I took my car to my local dealership who told me that I'm going to have to pay them $98 just for them to look at it. Since my cars warranty was up 12000/miles ago. I contacted the corporate office who told me that it was the dealers "Right" to charge for their labor. She told me that I can always pay the 98 fee and afterwards she may be able to contact the district manager to see if they will "reduce" or "provide a goodwill" fixing of my car. SO I have to pay 98 for them to decide if they are going to stand by their product? The customer service agent was very rude. Granted I was pretty upset when I spoke with her but I am the customer and she gets paid to speak with me I don't get paid to talk to them. She contacted the service manager at my local dealership and they declined to help me out. Needless to say I filed a complaint with OSI (which she told me she didn't belive there was any place I could do so) as well as contacting every news paper and news show in my area. I plan on protesting outside of their business letting people know what kind of business they are dealing with. I also wrote letters to my local dealership, as well as national company. I filed a BBB complaint against the national company as well as the local dealership. At the very least I plan on being a thorn in their side. I have researched my issue and found that this is a common issue. If you are reading this and have an issue with your door locking on you please file a formal complaint especially with OSI so we can get a recall on this and force Kia to stand by their product. Once voice may be lost in the crowed but many will be heard!!!
